Major Retired Patrick Bishop Sr. is a candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Alabama.

Veteran. Public Servant. Common Sense Conservative!

When you vote Bishop for Bama, you make the choice to “Go Out & Make Alabama Better" (MAB)!

Pat left the Democratic Party in 1993 because of the failures that cost the lives of military members during his deployment in Somalia. In addition, cost of living is being callously increased by the super majority. Pat will strongly fight against policies that will stem unsustainable government spending and fight against the unnecessary increases in property taxes, home heating costs, electricity rates, transportation fees, and health insurance premiums.

Pat is deeply committed to the working people of Alabama who work too hard for too little in a state that almost costs too much to live in. Alabama citizens deserve to be able to afford to live in Alabama and the next Governor needs an ally in this fight.

Pat Bishop is running for Lt. Governor of Alabama to build a thriving Alabama where everyone has a fair shot at success. He understands the challenges working families face and knows they do not have time to waste. As Lt. Governor he will do what he did as a Soldier - deploy and get things done. He will do the same as Lt. Governor of Alabama by focusing on:

  • Expanding Opportunity: making Alabama the best state for businesses to grow and create jobs, AND the best state for workers in the nation.

  • Strengthening our Schools: fully funding our public school system and early childhood education and care at the state level to ensure that every child has the opportunity to succeed from the time they are born until after they graduate high school.

My Time Today with WWII Veteran Mr. Roy Drinkard on his 105th Birthday Celebration

Today, I had an amazing opportunity to spend a short time with Mr. Roy Drinkard.

Roy Drinkard, a Cullman, Alabama businessman and the nation's oldest living Marine,
celebrated his 105th birthday today with a multitude of guests.

"It's an honor to celebrate these brave individuals and acknowledge their sacrifices for our freedom. I first met him a few years ago when I was a new deputy at the Cullman County's Annual Rodeo.
I was blessed to escort him onto the grounds as we celebrated our war heroes.".

These celebrations highlight the decreasing number of living World War II veterans. Less than 1% of the 16.4 million Americans who served during the war are still alive today,
making each of these birthdays particularly meaningful.

"Spending time with veterans, listening to their stories, and expressing gratitude, are all valuable ways to honor their service and ensure their legacy is remembered by
future generations. I was very happy to see the multitude of young people, ranging in ages from 4 to 18, come by to show their gratitude to Mr. Drinkard.".

When my turn came to greet him (it was a very long line), I presented him with a Marine Corps baseball cap. I said, "Good afternoon sir. My name is Pat Bishop and I am a retired paratrooper". He turned his head and ear towards me and said, "Oh you were an Army guy".
I said, "Yes sir!". He then said, "I love army guys. Especially anybody who wants to jump out of an airplane. We all need each other to make it!".
Those words alone, "We all need each other..", really grabbed me. As a minister of the Gospel, as a father, as a school resource officer, as a deputy, and as a human being,
this is the basic fundamental fact of the teachings of Christ that we teach to others. But we must teach them,
by showing them! The fact is people never care how much you know, until they know how much you care!"

It's a beautiful thing to acknowledge the bravery and sacrifices of World War II veterans and ensure their stories are passed down.

Bishop Announces

Pat Bishop running for Lieutenant Governor of Alabama

****Released May 25, 2025 ****

Retired Army Major & Alabama law enforcement officer will announce Monday (Memorial Day) he is running for the Republican nomination for Lieutenant Governor of Alabama.

“The outgoing Lieutenant Governor has done a great job and is now leaving a vacancy in Alabama leadership which is critical to fill with a principled common-sense conservative. Alabama’s next Lieutenant Governor needs to have a solid record of leadership to effectively fight our state’s move away from our constitution and our common-sense values,” says Bishop.

Recently, Bishop has been outspoken against the crime crisis in the state, homeless veterans, the need for community service officers to assist law enforcement with citizens with mental illness issue, and more protection for teachers in the classroom.

“Daywalker” files for Lieutenant Governor

Bishop enters the race as top conservative choice for Alabama

(Birmingham, AL) — Retired Army Major and Cullman County Deputy announced today that he has filed paperwork to run for the Republican nomination for Lieutenant Governor of Alabama.

I’m running for Lieutenant Governor because Alabama deserves a proven leader—someone who’s not afraid to stand up and fight for what’s right. I’m not a politician. I’m a man of action. I know how to get things done, and I’ll never compromise my values. I have all the strengths you expect in a leader—and none of the weaknesses you’ve come to associate with politics.

Alabama residents know what they’ll get with me: a champion for limited government, a fighter for our constitutional rights, and a tireless advocate for our veterans and the honorable men and women in law enforcement.

About Me-

I proudly served 26 years in the United States Army after enlisting in 1990 as a graduate of Ramsay High School. In addition to my military service, I also dedicated several years to law enforcement.

My wife Angela and I are both military veterans and law enforcement officers, where we remain deeply committed to our community. I am a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), the Immediate Past Director of Military Affairs for Alabama with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc., and a member of the Cullman County Fraternal Order of Police and the Military Officers Association of America. I also serve as an Associate Minister at Trinity Baptist Church and remain active with Southern States Police Benevolent Association and the Tau Sigma Chapter (Birmingham Sigmas) of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.

Recently, I was humbled to be recognized with Cullman County’s Outstanding Citizen Award by the children of Cullman County Schools—an honor that speaks to the values I stand for. I continue to serve through various civic and faith-based organizations across our great state.

Together, we can lead Alabama with integrity, strength, and conviction.
